Uff. Jediný povzdech, který po tomto zápase vystihuje snad každého českého fanouška. Český výběr byl před těžkým utkání. Bělorusko nehraje na tomto turnaji vůbec špatně a český tým už potřeboval body do tabulky. Nakonec se dočkal dvou. Za výhru v prodloužení. Pořád tak můžeme pomýšlet na čtvrtfinále. Budeme doufat, že tato výhra kluky nakopne a vrátí se k formě z přípravných zápasů. 

V první třetině začali čeští hráči trochu vlažněji. Bělorusové měli ve výsledku více nebezpečných šancí. První velké ohrožení mladého brankáře Kolosova přišlo od Dominika Kubalíka. V další šanci se objevil Sklenička, trefil však jen masku brankáře. Od druhé poloviny se zápas dostával do většího tempa a vypadalo to na české probuzení. V největší šanci první třetiny byl Jiří Sekáč, který se ocitl sám před běloruským gólmanem. Ani on devatenáctiletého brankáře nepřekonal. Závěr třetiny patřil našim hráčům. Začali více bruslit a dávat si přesnější přihrávky. Přišla také první česká přesilovka, ve které se Bělorusku téměř nepodařilo vyhodit puk ze své třetiny. Dominik Kubalík v sobě probudil toho očekávaného střelce. Ran vypálil spousty, ale spousty z nich také skončilo perfektně zablokovaných běloruskými obránci. Gólman Kolosov předvedl dobré zákroky a český výběr tak první přesilovku nevyužil. Češi v první třetině přestříleli Bělorusko 19:6.

Druhá třetina byla v počátku opět v režii Běloruska. Navíc museli čeští hráči čelit oslabení neboť Libor Šulák byl poslán na trestnou lavici za nedovolené bránění. Zde český tým podržel gólman Šimon Hrubec. Velice aktivní byli Filipové Chytil i Zadina, ale z prvního gólu se nakonec radoval soupeř. Obránce Klok zablokovanou střelou nahrál Kosticynovi a ten už dával na Šarangoviče, který se nemýlil. Český tým ale nehodlal tento stav nechat moc dlouho. Náš kapitán Jan Kovář vyrovnával na 1:1 po pěkné teči od Hronka a Moravčíka. Český tým si vytvářel velký tlak na bránu, který vedl k dalšímu faulu Běloruska. Na dvě minuty šel ze hry Kosticyn za sekání. Přesilovka byla striktně v české režii. Vytvářeli si dobré pozice a běloruští obránci nestačili zblokovat střelu Filipa Hronka, kterou do běloruské svatyně nakonec dopravil Filip Zadina. Jednalo se tak o jeho první gól na mistrovství světa. Do konce třetiny už žádná gólová radost nepřišla i když český výběr měl více šancí pro další skórování.

Ani začátek třetí třetiny nevypadal podle představ. Na trestnou lavici se tentokrát odebral obránce Libor Hájek za hákování a čekalo nás další bránění. Naše obrana ale zafungovala v kooperaci se skvělým Hrubcem dobře a stále jsme měli stav utkání nakloněný v náš prospěch. Druhá polovina třetí třetiny už tak vyvedená nebyla. Spousta nepřesných přihrávek a špatné načasování dávalo bělorusům spoustu času v našem obranném pásmu. Následně přišla druhá chyba ve střídání na tomto turnaji a soupeř se rázem radoval z vyrovnávacího gólu. Jeho autorem byl Vladislav Jerjomenko, který střelou od pravého rohu překonal Hrubce. Ačkoliv se český vývěr snažil ještě utkání zvrátit, všechny pokusy nebyly tak efektivní a zápas musel jít do prodloužení. Tam čekala na fanoušky infarktová první minuta, kdy byl ve vyložené šanci Alexej Protas ale Hrubec fantasticky pokryl. Hned vzápětí poslal Robin Hanzl do úniku Dominika Kubalíka. Ten svůj samostatný nájezd na mladého brankáře splnil a Česko se tak může alespoň radovat ze zisku prvních dvou bodů. Ještě je před námi spousty utkání, tak doufejme, že to naše hokejisty nakopne a dočkáme se dalších vítězství. Za Česko byl vyhlášen Jan Kovář nejlepším hráčem utkání. V druhé straně se tím vyvoleným stal střelec prvního gólu Jegor Šarangovič.
