Po pěti zápasech máme 8 bodů! Český tým si připsal pohodovou, povinnou výhru nad Velkou Británií 6:1

V pořadí páté zápasy na MS bývají, z pohledu českých výběrů, ty, ve kterých vyhrávají s největším rozdílem. Tentokrát naši nadělili výběru Velké Británie šest gólů. O branky se dnes starali především obránci, kteří vsítili hned čtyři. Tato výhra pro nás znamená zvýšení šancí na čtvrtfinále, ke kterému nám při shodě výsledků může stačit i jedna výhra a jedna prohra v následujících dvou zápasech s Dánskem a Slovenskem.

Utkání začalo z naší strany velice aktivně, uběhlo teprve 13 sekund a Whistle v brance Britů měl už dva zákroky. O první rozruch se postaral Jiří Sekáč. Ten sice nechtěně, ale přece srazil brankáře soupeře, načež vyrazil obránce Clemens ukázat Sekáčovi, že toto nestrpí. Clemens krosčekoval Sekáče do hlavy, a tím zachránil český výběr od hry v oslabení. Při hře ve čtyřech nechali Britové více prostoru Špačkovi, ale ten bohužel minul bránu. V polovině páté minuty hledal Filip Hronek před prázdnou bránou Matěje Blümela. Ten kotouč nedokázal usměrnit až za brankovou čáru a neuspěl ani dorážející Kovář, který aspoň získal faul na svoji osobu. Hned po 30 sekundách přesilové hry měl odkrytou bránu Filip Zadina, ale trefil pouze uhýbajícího kapitána Kováře. Další přesilovkové střely Hronka, Šuláka a Stránského už bez větších problémů pokryl Whistle, nebo britská obrana. V osmé minutě se do velké šance dostal Sekáč, ale vylámal si zuby na lapačce brankáře. Vadit mu to nemuselo, protože už o 20 sekund později prostřelil z prostoru mezi kruhy vše, co našel v cestě, Lukáš Klok, který gólem v druhém zápase v řadě zařídil Česku vedení. Už o chvíli později mohl zvýšit Kubalík, který sice dostal puk za záda brankáře, ale ne za brankovou čáru. Další šanci spálil po Hájkově přihrávce Jiří Sekáč. Britové se postupně začali osmělovat a nebezpečnou střelu, nejlepšího střelce šampionátu Liama Kirka, musel krýt Roman Will v brance českého týmu. Nejblíže ke srovnání byli Britové v 16. minutě, když Sklenička srazil přihrávku soupeře na českou bránu.

Druhá dvacetiminutovka začala nejlépe, jak jen mohla. Už ve 33 sekundě padl gól na 2:0. Filip Hronek si po přihrávce Zadiny vybruslil před brankáře a bekhendem zasunul podél betonu do branky. Už ve 23. minutě měl velkou šanci Andrej Šustr, ale byl vychytán Whistlem. Neuběhlo ani pět minut druhé třetiny a český tým vedl už 3:0. Sekáč udržel kotouč u mantinelu a předal ho Špačkovi, který nezazmatkoval a našel Libora Šuláka, který propálil brankáře. Český tým s chutí útočil dále. Další šanci měl Hanzl, ale ten nechal vyniknout lapačku Whistla. Přesně v polovině utkání dostal český výběr druhou přesilovku. V početní výhodě si český výběr vodil Brity jako kočka myš a z toho vyplynuly dvě tyčky po střelách našich dvou “ptáků“ Špačka a Vrány. Nejhezčí branku našeho výběru vsítil Filip Chytil, který se stal prvním útočníkem, jenž pohnul se skóre tohoto utkání. Chytil nabral rychlost a těsně před brankářem naznačil, že si ho bude chtít objet, ale v poslední chvíli vystřelil k bližší tyči, kde už brankář neměl šanci být. Na konci třetiny začal mít šance i náš soupeř. Opět tu největší měl Kirk, který naštěstí promáchl v situaci, kdy by se Will jen těžko stihl přesunout. V posledních dvou minutách prostřední pasáže dostali Britové šanci na přesilovou hru. Richardson nahodil puk na Willovu bránu, ten vyrazil puk před sebe, kde jej našel Myers a ten ho mezi betony českého brankáře dostal za brankovou čáru. 

Třetí třetina začala šancí Dominika Kubalíka, který bohužel minul levou tyčku brány. Poté český výběr lehce zvolnil tempo, a tak Britové využívali možností usazovat se v útočném pásmu, ale všechny pokusy skončili na jistém Willovi. Tým Velké Británie si vynutil svou aktivitou faul Libora Šuláka. Britové zvýšili tlak, který skončil velkou šancí Bena O´Connora, proti které skvěle zakročil svým betonem Roman Will. Deset minut před koncem utkání po střele Davida Skleničky, který v zápase hodně toužil po brance, musel trenér soupeře vyměnit zraněného Whistla za Bena Bownse, kterého v brance přivítal střelou mezi betony Matěj Blümel. Už o minutu později vybojoval v rohu na dvou Britech puk Robin Hanzl, ten ho předal Lencovi, a ten z mezikruží prostřelil Bownse. Češi pokračovali v odstřelování Bownsovy brány, mezi nejaktivnější byli Blümel, Stránský a Sklenička, ale skóre na konečných 6:1 změnil až dvě minuty před koncem svým druhým gólem v utkání Libor Šulák. Šulák znovu ránou od modré prostřelil vše, co mu stálo v cestě. Poslední dvě minuty už byly z obou stran čekáním na sirénu a poklidným dohráváním zápasu.
